Prior to recording you need to accomplish these things.
 
  1. 1. Practice, practice, practice
  2. 2. Decided your 10 best songs and acquire the mechanical licence for each song from CMRRA.
  3. 3. Decide where you want to record
  4. 4. Decide when you want to record
  5. 5. If you want, approach different companies and see if they want to place sponsor your CD by placing an add on the CD case.  Any addition revenue this generates is entirely yours.
As with many volunteer music groups nobody has money for recording.  At Isxus we try and accommodate any group by offering free recording on a limited basis.  In order to qualify for free recording all the following must apply.
 
  1. 1. You must be an actively performing community group.  
  2. 2. You must not limit membership to those belonging to specific clubs, religions, leagues, race, school, any other kind of limiting factor.  Although you should not limit a person by race, in the event of cultural music it is understood that most people involved likely share a similar cultural background and that would be acceptable.
  3. 3. No individual will be profiting from the project.  Some exceptions may apply, such as hall rentals, catering if you wish to provide food during the recording and other such expenses where an outside person or company is paid for supporting services.
  4. 4. The CD can only contain 10 songs
  5. 5. The overall recording process must be done in two consecutive days.  10 hours or less on day one and 5 hours or less on day two

  9. 6. You must agree to have all manufacturing done by Isxus Productions and you must order at least 250 CD’s within 12 months of recording, you can order as few as 50 CD at a time.  Isxus will sell the CD’s to you for $5.00 + tax each.  You will get a full colour printed cardboard sleeve and a full colour CD.  Other options are available.  
  10. 7. Isxus Productions will also set up a free store front for you with a unique web address “YourBand.Isxus.com” were you can sell your CD throughout Canada.  We will take care of all shipping and handling.
 
Community Service Projects
By the day of recording you must have accomplished these things.
 
  1. 1. You must have acquired all royalties from CMRRA for all songs.
  2. 2. You must have completed all artwork for CD
After recording you should accomplish these things.
 
  1. 1. Have a CD release party.
  2. 2. Promote the CD, remember you will also have a web store front to direct people to.
  3. 3. Play, play, play.  The more people the hear you the more chance you have to promote music, your band and the CD.
