Lindsey White

- Lindsey White This is Now
Soulful. Passionate. Free. All words that begin to describe Lindsey White, but words aren’t always enough. The young singer/songwriter calls her hometown ‘the Peg’, where she was born and raised. Living and being influenced by an culturally rich prairie city shows in her music, which she self-proclaims as Folk Rock, but in essence is so much more.

Lindsey White is an up and coming singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Winnipeg. Living and being influenced by a culturally rich prairie city shows in her unique blend of Folk Rock music. Throughout her life Lindsey has become something of a jack of trades; she’s a classically trained pianist, obtaining her Grade 9 Royal Conservatory, a Jazz trained vocalist, and a “nothing” trained guitarist, having taught herself the ropes over the past seven years. She also dabbles with violin, flute, bass guitar, and a little accordion. As she self-proclaims at many of her first-rate shows, she truly is “The Band”.
Lindsey has kept her plate full. She teaches piano, sings with the vocal group Jazz@8, and her basement demo CD titled “What’s New” debuted in February of 2005. “New” sported five tracks, and it serves as a demonstration of Lindsey’s talent and capabilities as a musician and vocalist. Lindsey played the Folk Fest in 2005 and appeared in numerous venues across the city at a clip of about twice per month. White recently concluded a short tour in the province of Alberta. She has also made regular appearances on City TV’s Breakfast Television.
Still, White has found time to start working on a new album set for release in 2006. “Walk on Water” is a gorgeous piano ballad that has recently been released as a single from this forthcoming album. “W.O.W” hints at the intensity and radiance we are about to experience. Aside from the new album, Lindsey’s focus lies with finding a backing band to aid in her live performances. As you can see, being “The Band” can be a tiring albeit rewarding exercise.
